Doctors of optometry (ODs) are the primary health care professionals for the eye. Optometrists examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye.Community Health Centers – partnering with the National Association of Community Health Centers, the AOA is working to improve access to center eye and vision care services.
InfantSEE® – affords a one-time, comprehensive eye assessment at no cost for infants in their first years of life.
Vision USA™ – helps low-income, uninsured people and their families by providing basic eye health and vision care services free of charge.
Optometric Disaster Relief Fund – offers optometrists financial assistance for damages incurred from natural disasters.
